Pigment marks usually occur in unprotected areas that are regularily exposed to the sun: the forehead, cheeks, upper lip, shoulders, décolleté and hands. This is where the excess melanin that leads to dark discolorations of the skin is formed. In addition to UV radiation, taking hormones can also increase melanin production (hyperpigmentation) in the skin. Sunscreen should be applied regularly in order to prevent pigment marks from forming. However, many lightening products are available to reduce the appearance of pigment marks.

Pigmentation disorders? No problem with the right foundation!

A sunscreen with an adequate sun protection factor (SPF) is essential if we want to prevent pigmentation marks on our face and ensure that our skin is reliably protected against harmful UV radiation.

If, in spite of this precaution, brownish marks appear on our face, rich foundations are the ideal way to achieve an even skin tone on the face, neck and décolleté. The degree of coverage and the appropriate shade are key factors as the aim is not only to conceal minor flaws perfectly but also to reduce the appearance of pigmentation disorders and age spots. The correcting foundation can also be enhanced with a camouflage cream. For a lightening effect, a lighter shade can be patted into the dark marks on the face. The foundation is then applied to the rest of the face, and before you know it, the camouflage is perfect!
