As the successor to the AHA BHA Toner, the DOCTOR BABOR CLARIFYING Exfoliating Toner supports skin regeneration and refines the skin texture with a highly effective acid blend of 9% AHA (mandelic acid), BHA (salicylic acid), and PAD (azelaic acid derivative). It also contains panthenol, which nourishes and moisturizes the skin and strengthens the skin’s natural protective barrier. Enriched with the exclusive DOCTOR BABOR BIOGEN PLANT EXTRACT, the pinnacle of BABOR research, the skin’s natural processes are stimulated, thus promoting the skin’s youthful agility.

Mandelic acid acts as a gentle alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that gently exfoliates the top layer of skin. The gentle exfoliation removes dead skin cells, which stimulates skin regeneration. As a beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), the deep-acting salicylic acid’s lipophilic molecular structure makes it fat-soluble, which enables it to efficiently dissolve sebum and dead skin cells. With this unique mode of action, salicylic acid cleanses the pores thoroughly and prevents them from clogging, which reduces the appearance of blemishes such as blackheads and pimples. Salicylic acid also helps soothe irritated skin, reduce redness and swelling, and minimize existing blemishes.
The azelaic acid derivative is a universal skincare ingredient that is known for its antibacterial properties.
