Refining pores – What can our cleansing products do?

Oily or combination skin is generally more prone to enlarged pores than other skin types. But there are special products that can help to reduce excessive sebum production and gently exfoliate pores that have become clogged due to a build-up of dead skin cells. The result? Blemishes subside and the complexion looks clearer and has a more even appearance.

Special peels, for example, can create a fresher-looking complexion. But caution is advised. Whereas normal skin can be exfoliated once or twice a week without a problem, peels should not be used more than twice a week on blemished skin. Exfoliating allows skin cells and excessive sebum to be removed, and it can also prevent spots and blackheads. For dry skin, an oil peel is beneficial, as it only needs to be rubbed gently into the skin. Extra care is needed for sensitive skin. Only use mild peels for this skin type, and apply no more than once a month.

The best time to exfoliate is in the evening as peels make the skin more sensitive to light. Overnight, the skin has sufficient time to regenerate.
