What is the difference between vegan and non-vegan cosmetics?
The origins of cosmetics are not vegan. Many centuries ago people already used plant and animal substances to apply make-up and take care for themselves. Vegan skincare is becoming more and more popular, because today there are enough plant-based or synthetic substances that are just as suitable for the production of cosmetic products as animal-based active ingredients.
Naturally vegan cosmetics: Are natural cosmetics vegan at all?
Caution! Natural cosmetics are not always vegan. They may also be produced with active ingredients of animal origin.

Which cosmetic products are vegan & where can I find vegan skincare?
In our online shop, you can recognise vegan cosmetic products right away in the product description by the green leaf with the designation “Suitable for vegans”. We are also working on a new feature that will soon allow you to use our filter function and search for vegan care products. This way you can buy vegan cosmetics without worrying. Recognising active ingredients of animal origin can be quite difficult. There are some raw materials, like beeswax, that are recognisable even without detailed knowledge. However, a large number of raw materials do not reveal at first glance whether animal ingredients were used in the production process. For example, if enzymes of animal origin are used in a manufacturing step, it is not recognisable from the INCI declaration because the enzymes are not present in the end product. For vegans, however, this is still a no-go.
Vegan facial cleansers
If you are looking for a vegan facial cleanser, you have the option of choosing between different vegan facial cleansing products for a wide range of skin types and conditions.
